1. Introduction
Kolsona ("we", "us", or "our") provides an audience intelligence platform for DJs and event producers at kolsona.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we share it when you use Kolsona.
By using Kolsona, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service. We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in to Kolsona using Google Sign-In, we receive basic profile information from Google as part of the standard OAuth authentication flow, including:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture URL
We use Google Sign-In only for authentication purposes. We do not request access to, and do not receive data from, your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other Google product beyond the basic profile information described above.
2.2 Event Information
When you create an event as a DJ or event host, we collect:
- Event name, date, and description
- Venue or location name
- Cover image URL (if provided)
- Custom survey questions and their settings
- Event theme, style, and presentation preferences
- Expected guest count (optional, used to calculate a confidence score)
2.3 Guest Survey Responses
When a guest participates in an event survey - which requires no account, no registration, and no personal login - we collect:
- Music genre preferences
- Mood or energy preferences
- Artist preferences
- Song preferences
- Free-text responses, if the event includes open-ended questions
Guest responses are submitted anonymously. We do not associate them with a Google account or any personal identity. Responses are linked to the event and are made available to the event host as aggregated audience insights. Guests are informed before submitting that their responses will be shared with the event host.
2.4 Usage and Technical Data
When you use Kolsona, we may automatically collect technical information including browser type, device type, operating system, IP address, pages visited, time spent, and referring URL. This information is used to operate, maintain, and improve the service.
2.5 Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser cookies and local storage for:
- Maintaining your signed-in session
- Remembering your language preference
- Tracking whether you have already submitted a response to a specific event (to allow re-submission)
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Create and manage events you set up
- Display survey responses on your event dashboard
- Generate audience insights, genre breakdowns, and confidence scores for your events
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Kolsona platform
- Respond to support requests
- Send important service-related or account communications
When you use the AI-assisted event generation feature, your inputs - such as event name, theme, or genre suggestions - may be sent to an AI provider to generate suggested survey questions. We do not send your personal profile information (name, email, profile picture) to any AI service.
5. Service Providers
We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate Kolsona. Each provider processes data according to their own privacy policies and applicable data protection agreements:
- Supabase - database hosting, authentication infrastructure, and secure data storage. Event data and survey responses are stored in Supabase-hosted databases.
- Vercel - web hosting and deployment platform for the Kolsona application.
- Google - identity provider for Google Sign-In authentication.
- OpenAI - AI model provider, used only when the AI-assisted event generation feature is active. Event inputs such as theme and genre context may be sent to OpenAI to generate suggested questions. Personal profile data is never sent to OpenAI.
- Deezer - public music data API used to display artist and song suggestions when setting up events. No personal data is sent to Deezer.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and event data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Guest survey responses are retained for as long as the associated event exists.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@kolsona.com.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We rely on Supabase's security infrastructure for database protection and access control.
No method of data transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@kolsona.com.
Guest survey responses are anonymous by design and cannot be linked back to a specific individual, which may limit our ability to locate and return specific guest data upon request.
9. Children's Privacy
Kolsona is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our service, please contact us at support@kolsona.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
10. International Users
Kolsona is operated from Israel and is accessible globally. If you use Kolsona from outside Israel, your information may be transferred to and processed in Israel or in other countries where our service providers maintain infrastructure. By using Kolsona, you acknowledge and consent to this international transfer of data.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Kolsona after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
